Like a lot of you, I love cooking the primitive way, with a live fire. I've been captivated by it since I was a boy, all thanks to my dad and our weekends spent around a campfire.
In the early 1990's, a cowboy named John Buchanan introduced me to Texas brisket and that "wow moment" experience sent me on a path that I'm still on today.
I am the founder of the highly desirable, offset smoker company Primitive Pits. In 2019, we launched Workhorse Pits which offers the same outstanding performance of our commercial pits in multiple size backyard offsets and even a cook top firepit.
